Presentation of the «Creative Spark: Higher Education Enterprise Program» project at PUEТ
The creative industries in the business belong to a dynamic industry. Poltava University of Economics and Trade together with NGO "Adult Education Center of Poltava Region" and the University of Portsmouth (UK) won the “Creative Spark: Entrepreneurship in Education system” grant with the support of the British Council. The project involves the creation of a joint British-Ukrainian creative entrepreneurship education program, a winter camp and a business ideas competition.
Overall, the project is a five-year initiative aimed at supporting international university and institutional partnerships to develop entrepreneurial skills and a creative economy in seven countries: Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, Armenia and Georgia with the support of the United Kingdom. One of the main objectives of this project is to raise the awareness of Ukrainians about entrepreneurship, in particular in the field of creative industries, to improve the level of qualification of Ukrainian specialists by studying the experience of British colleagues; improvement of entrepreneurial skills among specialists in the field of creative industries.
On October 29, the Poltava University of Economics and Trade presented a project under the slogan "Collaboration between UK and Ukraine Business Universities". The event was attended by more than 120 participants, including representatives of local authorities, NGOs, educators and students of Poltava institutions of higher and secondary education. Rector of the University Alexei Nestulia, Deputy Mayor on the activities of executive bodies (economic and social issues) Tatiana Yurchenko; Executive Director of NGO "Center for Adult Education of Poltava Region" Inna Chaika were also present.
Vita Svitlychna, Coordinator of the British Council's Educational Projects in Ukraine, spoke about the opportunities of the British Council for Educators and NGOs.
Inna Pakhomova, Director of the Institute for Projects and Innovation of PUEТ, presented and announced the activities within the CreativeSpark: Higher Education Enterprise Program, as well as the university's opportunities for cooperation with business.
The associate head of the School of Mechanical Engineering and Design, University of Portsmouth, Giovanna Radulovich, shared her experience of working with business and universities in the UK. Interestingly, the University of Portsmouth is sponsored by a local football team. In addition, Giovanna Radulovich presented the joint scientific developments of students and faculty of the university, implemented at the enterprises of Great Britain. It is logical that cooperation between universities and business entails a dialogue. That is why Irena Radovanovich, IT consultant, and project management expert, entrepreneur, shared her success story. She presented the most successful European startups and told a motivational story about her entrepreneurial experience.
