PRSLSSG - an environment for the development of leadership competencies

On February 17-18, Poltava Regional School of Leaders of Student Self-Government (PRSLSSG) continued its work. The project is implemented jointly by the Poltava Regional Institute of Postgraduate Education. of M. Ostrogradsky and Poltava University of Economics and Trade. Under the Program, PRSLSSG students study the distance course "Leaders of Student Self-Government" and have a series of trainings on the formation and improvement of soft skills: "My leadership potential", "Effective communication", "Teamwork", "Critical thinking and logic", "Project management ».

The ability to communicate with student leaders at locations was limited because of quarantine, but leaders always find opportunities for self-improvement. The work of
PRSLSSG has been resumed, the first webinars started online.

The students were greeted by Vice-Rector of Poltava Regional Institute of Postgraduate Education. of M. Ostrogradsky Natalia Koryagina and PUET Vice-Rector Oleksandr Manzhura. Associate Professor of PUET Elena Goryacheva acquainted students with the technical aspects of their participation in the webinar on the topic: "My leadership potential". PRIPE Methodist Angela Romanenko stressed the possibilities of supporting students by coordinators at the locations. Former Chair of the Student Council, 2020 graduate of PUET Marina Negoda offered a short presentation, confirming the leadership qualities formed during her studies at the university and work in the student council as well as in the educational and scientific institute of PUET leadership. She told how, thanks to the environment created in PUET, she was able to pass a competitive selection and become an intern in one of the departments of the personnel service of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

Director of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Leadership Svitlana Nestulya analyzed the results of entrance testing, which was passed by school participants, introduced examples of work, namely presentations made and sent by participants of PRSLSSG. Conducted a series of interactive exercises using the Jamboard tool, which aroused special interest and liveliness in communication.

82 listeners took part in the event on the first day, and 86 listeners on the second day. In the feedback, the listeners of PRSLSSG noted that the webinar was held in an atmosphere of content, constructiveness and high motivation to acquire new skills.
